presenting:

Next Level Listening: How to Be the Best Listener in the Room, Be That the Boardroom, Classroom, or Family Room

Within a complex context where school communities are composed of constituents from across all spectrums of thought, belief, and background, in order to be successful, leaders need to be the best listeners in the room. Moreover, when navigating the current, nuanced political environment, engaging with upset parents, and seeking to model civil discourse across the campus, leaders need to be tremendous listeners. Next-level listeners.In this hands-on deep dive and workshop, participants will learn and practice listening strategies and approaches normally reserved only for certified leadership coaches. As a result, participants will emerge equipped with an understanding of a skill set strong enough to transform any school, organization, home, or relationship, and prepared to better honor challenging conversations, model civil discourse for child and adult alike, and navigate the multitude of competing priorities presented each day.

Shannan Boyle Schuster,

Consultant

presenting:

The Shifting Workforce

As schools face a looming teacher shortage and the growing demand for flexible work schedules, they may need to rethink how to attract and hire the right people. School leaders know that hiring the right “people on the bus” makes their jobs easier and optimizes the student experience. However, recruiting the right people has become more challenging with the decline in qualified candidates.

In this session, Shannan will:

  • explore ways to combat the teacher shortage;
  • share strategies to attract the right people; and
  • Identify incentives to get people to say “yes!”
  • develop schedules that allow for flexibility
  • analyze research on what keeps people
  • create job postings that grab attention and get people to take the next step
