Target Audience - This workshop will be broadly applicable and useful for all K-12 educators
- Teachers, coaches, extended day and summer program leads as well as academic and social-emotional leaders will find it particularly valuable.
Workshop Description
In this workshop Dr. Susie Wise from Stanford d.school will
share concrete frameworks from her newly released book Design for Belonging: How to Build Inclusion and Collaboration in Your
Communities. Participants will use the
framework: Feel It, See It, Shape It, an accessible way to use design mindsets
to create belonging in schools. Together we will dig into concrete experiential
moments – the invitation, joining, participating, contributing, and even
dissent – to explore opportunities to build belonging. We will also discover
and use an expanded set of the levers of design to increase creativity by
considering things like space, role, rituals, groupings, and communications in
new ways.

All participants will receive a copy of Design for Belonging: How to Build Inclusion and Collaboration in Your
Communities
