A note about our 2024 date: We are aware and regret that this conference begins on the eve of Yom Kippur. We tried to avoid this conflict, but we could not make other options work. Because of this, we will be wrapping up this conference at 2:30pm to allow attendees celebrating the holiday to travel.

Jennifer Gonzalez: Editor-in-Chief, Cult of Pedagogy

 About Our Theme:

EDUCATION [R]EVOLUTION:
EMPOWERING CHANGE IN OUR STUDENTS AND OURSELVES

As the educational landscape continues to evolve in the post-pandemic era, educators face an increased need for resilience and adaptability. This year's conference will focus on how teachers can embrace change, shape it, and forge a new path to meet the dynamic, ever-evolving needs of students.

We will focus on three pathways as we explore this work:

  • Adapting Pedagogical Approaches: Exploring innovative teaching methods and approaches that cater to the evolving needs and learning styles of students.
  • Student Empowerment: Focusing on fostering a sense of agency and self-efficacy among students, enabling them to navigate change confidently.
  • Cultivating Wellness: Providing strategies for educators and students to support resilience and strategies for ongoing success in the face of uncertainties and challenges.
As we explore these themes and put them to work, attendees will leave with big ideas to share and strategies to put into practice that will empower school communities to navigate and make the best of a changing world.

Join your NWAIS colleagues this October for an Education [R]evolution!

NWAIS May Help Cover Travel Costs

The NWAIS travel reimbursement policy is designed to reimburse candidate and accredited member schools for some travel costs. This policy applies to a school’s total travel expenses (not the cost of rooms and meals), no matter how many people the school sends to the workshop. If your school spends more than $150 dollars on travel for this event and is traveling a distance greater than 250 miles you will be reimbursed a percentage of your expenses.
