The Island School is a small, independent school founded in 1977. At The Island School we educate each of our children; we nourish their innate curiosity, inspire a lifelong enthusiasm for learning, and foster respect and appreciation for themselves and others.
The Island School offers an excellent educational foundation for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade. We recognize the uniqueness of each child; we build on their strengths and focus on the challenges they face. We have high standards for behavior, for mutual respect, for communication and for solving problems in ways which honor differing points of view. We want children to leave us with a quiet confidence that lets them embrace challenges, dare to make mistakes, be creative and curious and enjoy learning.
The Island School has a strong financial aid program.
The Island School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, national or ethnic origin or sexual orientation in the administration of its education or admissions policies, financial aid or other school programs.
